WranglerReader Rendering: 2007 4-Door Wrangler
Posted by mike on 2006/1/29 21:32:45 (7016) reads

One of our readers, bmcollier, sent us this rendering he made of what the 2007 4-door Wrangler might look like.

What do you think? Is he on the mark? How close will this be to the actual 4-door Wrangler that debuts in a couple of months?

The photoshop rendering looks a little longer than the spy shot, making it look out of proportion, but a great effort and representation, nonehteless.

Re: Reader Rendering: 2007 4-Door Wrangler
Looks really good, but an earlier spy shot clearly showed that there would be no fender gap between the bumper and the front fender flare. (Think more along the lines of the Liberty's design.)

BTW: Yours looks better!

Re: Reader Rendering: 2007 4-Door Wrangler
Regarding the fender gap in the front, as I understand it, the 4 door in the "undressing" photo is a euro spec model (note the steering wheel), and that the american version will have the gap. As for the length of the vehicle, some posters have mentioned that it looks a little long. This may be true. I think the best way to judge is to look at the bottom of the rear door in the "undressing" photo and compare it to the one in the photochop. It does look like the rear door will be a couple of inches narrower that I previously thought.

For those comparing this rendering to spy photos, I feel this photo link http://www.jeepnewsnow.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=902 is a great one to compare to and observe other design features. Check out the roof panel seam above the B pillar. This shot should also give a good idea on rear door size and overall length as well as door hinges.

I think that looks really cool. The rear door seems a little wide to me when I compare it to the other spy shots though.

With apologies to all – I did this quick and dirty photochop comparison for myself - then I decided to post it here. It shows bmcollier is really close; the only tiny thing I saw was a fixed window pane on the back door…

Hey DCX - unveil the thing already!!

Thanks for the side-byside DBH, it really shows us just how close bmcollier really is! I think the overhang on the spy-shot is a little longer.

Re: Reader Rendering: 2007 4-Door Wrangler
Nice work, but I hope your off a little bit... I hope the rear/trunk window area is a little longer... if you look at the 2 door photos, it is much longer there.... Obviously if there is a second door though, it will be shorter... just hope not that short.

And if you look at spy photos, the second door looks to be, unfortunately, a little bit narrower.

But all and all a great job. Thanks.

I currently own an Unlimited (2004). When my son and daughter-in-law saw the magic words, "grandchildren" , I will be in line for this thing. This time in a Rubicon with the 6 speed.

Since you did this in Photoshop, can you change the color? I would love to see this in black or some of the other Jeep colors.

Nice Job on the Photoshop. Looks good, and prolly pretty accurate.

Make mine a two door, though.

I wonder what kind of wait list there will be for these and the two doors?

Nice photo rendition. I thought I read somewhere that the rear door might be the reverse hinged suicide type? Maybe I'm whacked...

Front hinges on the rear door are clearly visible in the previously posted "nearly naked" 4 door Wrangler.

Re: Reader Rendering: 2007 4-Door Wrangler
I tried to make the cut of the rear door as close to the "undressing" photo as possible, including the hinges on the rear door.
I'm really excited about this Jeep; my local dealer said there won't be a waiting list until it is unveiled and a release date is announced, so I am number 1 on the unofficial waiting for the waiting list.

Re: Reader Rendering: 2007 4-Door Wrangler
Good job, I think that's dead on. Nice attention to detail based on the partial reveal from earlier (example: the B-pillar is what we saw in the spy photo).

The only question really is how generous a second set of doors we'll get. I fear the rear door might be a tad shorter than you've got it, but if they get it close to what you have it'll be perfect.

I hope it is a "split" window, so that the window will rolldown all the way.

I know everyone was all goo-goo over the Dakar but this looks SO much better. Was the 6 year wait worth it, I dont know but this will be able to fill the gap of the XJ.

Is this puppy dog going to seat 4 or 5? I'm hoping you'll at least be able to squeeze a 5th person in the back seat.

Re: Reader Rendering: 2007 4-Door Wrangler
Looks pretty good! I'm sure that DCX didn't do this to the previous generation in part because of the gargantuan hard top that would be required. By using the modular hard top ideas in the new Wrangler, I wouldn't be surprised if it consisted of 5 pieces, two pieces per seating row and the large back section. I'm hoping they add the Hemi to this one, it would be fantastic!

Thank you bmcollier, I've been waiting to see what t he 4 door Wrangler would really look like. I think you have nailed it! It looks fantastic.
This image reinforces the fact that I want one of these things. Now, can you photochop in a CRD badge on it and send it to Jeep?
