Great. I like my 2008. Runs great. It only has two doors. My first 1992 Wrangler had two doors. I am not saying I do not like the four door model. I test drove one first. They are good. I just do not have a big family and I am usually with people that do not mind hopping into the unit when the top is off or moving the seat forward. I do see the benefit of the four door model. It is priced right and the value of four doors is obvious.

I would say that for every 5 4-dr models I see 1 2-dr. Very surprised at this number.

However, I wonder how this breaks down in sales in the States vs overseas. It may well be that the ratios we notice are an American phenomenon. I'd like to see those numbers.

I also would have thought a higher than 60/40 split on those numbers. Maybe we all just "take notice" of the 4-door JKs more than the 2-dr ones?

In Europe, especially Germany, manual trannys are supposed to be much more common than in the U.S. It's supposedly more of a "driving experience" thing for them than us.

In the U.S., I have to believe that the Wranglers/JKs are sold with a higher proportion of sticks than any other (mass-produced) vehicle. At the moment, I can't think of any other model that would even come close. It's always FRUSTRATING to me when the OEMs produce a "performance model" and don't have a stick as an option.

Notable examples (pet peeves of mine):
--the Dodge Nitro R/T with the 255HP 4.0L (no stick)
--the "Super Bee" editions of the Dodge Ram 1500 (5.7L HEMI, auto trans only) actually, NO 1500's come with a stick & a HEMI (the 2500 & 3500 do, the 505HP V-10 Viper Ram is/was stick only)
--the JEEP GC (all models)
--the JEEP Commander (all models)
--the Dodge Caliber with the 172HP "upgraded" engine (I believe the 172HP engine comes with CVT only, unlike the Patriot & Compass, which do offer the stick)
--the JEEP Liberty Limited (stick available for the Sport, though you'll find few/none on the dealer lot)
--the Hummer H3 Alpha (V8, no stick)
--Dodge Charger HEMI
--AEV American Expedition Vehicle HEMI swaps for the TJ Wranglers - what? no stick? (Maybe they'll wise up with the coming JK HEMI swap...)

I believe the new Challenger will be available with a stick for all engines.

My biggest worry is that JEEP will finally acquiesce and offer us the 300+HP 4.7L V8 or the 255HP 4.0L V6 in the JK, and then screw it up by only offering an automatic.

The two-door vrs four-door split is very interesting. Thank you. Does whoever got this information also have access to the manual vrs automatic transmission split? I would find that just as interesting.The question has come up several times over the past year and I have yet to see an answer posted.

it seems like a no brainer....all those folks that want the capability and styling of the Wrangler but have a family are now able to have the best of both worlds.

Honestly, I'm surprised the number wasn't higher. I probably see Unlimited at a ratio of 4:1 on the roads vs regular 2-dr models.

Nice to see someone at Jeep actually separating out the sales to see numbers of 4-dr vs 2-dr JKs, I've often wondered about those numbers myself.
