According to David Barnas of Chrysler-Jeep Communications, Grand Cherokee sales numbers are quite impressive compared to other full-size SUVs:
Amid the overall tough October sales results the Chrysler Group not only shone, but the 2006 Jeep ® Grand Cherokee more than pulled its weight as the top seller in the full size SUV segment. The Grand Cherokee sits atop the heap with an 11 percent share of the segment for the month, with 14,298 total sales. What's amazing is that the segment was down 51,000 units versus last year. That's a drop of 28 percent.
When you look at how the other guys did across town, the Grand Cherokees feat is even more impressive. Chevy TrailBlazer sales were down 12,579 units from last year and Ford Explorer/Sportrac sales fell by 17,720 units. Grand Cherokee was basically flat with October, 2004.

![]() this is not a big surprise. The GC is not too big and is not too small. it gas superior power and has very good fuel economy for its size. it can tow and carry stuff. there is nothing excessive about it

![]() Transpower, I have long dismissed Consumer Reports as "journalism" in line with the tabloids you would find next to your local grocery store checkout. This isn't just their automobile reviews, but just their writing in general.

![]() But I thought the Jeep Grand Cherokee was a mid-sized SUV, not a full-sized one. I'd really like to see a complete list for the month, quarter, and year of the sales figures for all mid-sized SUV's.
By the way, have you guys seen the recent Consumer Reports review of the JCG? It is the most retarded, ludicrous bunch of crap I've ever read in that magazine. Heck, in the 2006 Buying Guide Issue, which just came out, they rate the JGC below the Buick Rendezvous, Land Rover LR3, Nissan Pathfinder, Volvo XC90, Subaru B9 Tribeca, and even the Chrysler Pacifica. Their top-rated mid-size SUV is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid...is that really an SUV? I'll take Car and Driver anytime over Consumer Reports. |

![]() Even through the over-hyped gas crisis the GC remains a top selling SUV? Pretty impressive! Congratulations to Chrysler-Jeep…
