Early birds can attend for as little as $335
(from a DaimlerChrysler press release) Jeep® enthusiasts will have the opportunity to get muddier more times than ever as the brand hosts its 11th annual Camp Jeep® event and launches an all-new national driving tour, Camp Jeep On The Road®. Camp Jeep, the brand’s legendary summertime owner’s program, gets back to basics August 12-14 in the scenic Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. The fun-filled weekend event offers Jeep owners 4x4 trail rides, off-road driving courses, live concerts by national and emerging artists, plus the finals of the Jeep King of the Mountain Biking World Championships. New this year is the Jeep Memphis Belle Tour. This air show -- Camp Jeep’s first – will feature the legendary B-17 Flying Fortress on Friday, plus other vintage aircraft from WWII. Big band music and a parade of Jeep military vehicles are also planned for that day. The cost for the entire weekend is $385 per Jeep vehicle, or $335 for owners who register by May 31. Camp Jeep On The Road takes the best parts of the Camp Jeep experience directly to consumers with an eight-city tour. Themed "On the move and every bit as muddy," Camp Jeep On The Road offers visitors the opportunity to put the entire Jeep product line through its paces both on- and off-road, and includes a variety of activities synonymous with the Jeep lifestyle. "Last year Event Marketer magazine called Camp Jeep 'the preeminent annual owner-loyalty program,'", said Jeff Bell, Vice President - Jeep, Chrysler Group. "Nothing has changed. In fact, this year's Camp Jeep will be even better. "When it comes to sharing the experience of legendary Jeep 4x4 capability and lifestyle with consumers, we have done it through Camp Jeep, Jeep King of the Mountain, Jeep Music Trax, gaming, sports and many other award-winning activities, Camp Jeep On The Road takes the best of our summer program and brings them directly to consumers – those who already own a Jeep as well as those who dream of owning one." This year’s Camp Jeep is in the Pocono Mountains – the farthest east and farthest north the event has ever been held. The air show is a first for the event. The Jeep Memphis Belle Tour is Friday, August 12 at the Pocono Mountain Airport. In addition to a B-17, the air show will include a P-51 Mustang and a pair of P-47 Thunderbolts. The tour is named for the nickname of the B-17 Flying Fortress bomber that became a legend for surviving 25 missions during WWII. Popular elements of past Camp Jeep events remain, including the Jeep 101 course, which is designed to teach off-highway driving, safety skills and demonstrate the Trail Rated capabilities of the full line of Jeep vehicles. Participants are paired with experienced trail guides as they navigate steep grades and tackle challenges, such as large rocks, log crossings, sand and other off-highway obstacles. Once they master Jeep vehicle capabilities, they have a chance to navigate various levels of 4x4 trails in their own Jeep vehicles. In addition, Camp Jeep offers more than 150 activities for the entire family. The Kids Village features arts and crafts and a driving course with miniature Jeep vehicles. The Sports and Adventure Village features a variety of outdoor adventure sports, including mountain biking, climbing, hiking, fly-casting, and even scuba diving. The Thrills & Spills Village features extreme athletes performing high-flying action sports stunts and gives Jeep owners the opportunity to take a lesson from one of the athletes. The World of Jeep Village features a Jeep museum and the Jeep Gear Store. The die-hard Jeep owner can also visit the Engineering Village and participate in roundtable discussions with Jeep engineers to learn more about their vehicle’s design, capabilities and features.

But Jeep waited too long for the announcement of Camp. Last year we knew as soon as September. This year it was March before an anouncement was made. Plus with the Fubar's they had with events It was a pain in 2004.
So a choice had to be made.. Camp jeep 2005 in August or Moab Utah with fellow Rubicon Owners in May? hummm I chose Moab! I hope someone posts a review of Camp Jeep 2005. Good Luck to all that attend.

These Mass-Marketed Jeep Owners are suckers for falling for this propaganda...what a waste to see what Jeep has become in the 21st century...All about the $$$$$...and not the marque....
When I see "My Jeep went to Camp Jeep" I usually flip 'em the bird...they don't deserve the "wave" IMHO...,of course.
My Jeep doesn't need a "fan club"...just a mound of dirt, a muddy trail, or something to tow; and THAT usually can be found for FREE!

This is Jeeps event, Jeep is hosting it, complaints go to Jeep! Those who live too far to drive will have a chance some years to go. I live in the NE, but I know that I will have to sit a few out and wait for them to come around again.
Pricing for Camp Jeep 11 was announced a while ago, I don't know why the story is emerging now. Plus, the early bird deadline isnt the end of May anymore, they pushed it back to June 15.
Anyway, Camp Jeep is a whole lot of fun and I encourage anyone that can go to go. We're getting the Jeeps ready to go already!

I am sure they are a blast, just like Jeep Jamborees are. Went to the Texas Spur JJ here and it was an awesome time. I don't mind spending the money for an event. Good food, good folks and a lot of fun. Of course, most of you all can go out and wheel for free in the woods or where ever, but here in TX there is NO PUBLIC LAND, so wheeling always comes at a price. I do need to move further west so I can enjoy my Jeep more.

Originally posted by: Eddo It actually costs Jeep more to run Camp Jeep then they make off admission. It adds up quick.

Originally posted by: RUBICONTRAIL.NET Camp Jeep is nothing new. It and Jeep 101 courses are there to introduce Jeep owners to what their vehicle is capable of. The money you pay goes toward food, music (usually 1 or 2 nationally-known acts), activities for the kids, and this year an air show. If people choose to go to Camp Jeep then that's their choice, they don't deserve to be alienated by people like OnlyOneJeep.
Many Jeep owners live in urban / surburban areas and don't have a muddy trail in their back yard. Anyone following land use issues will know that people abusing their rights to go off-roading (ie, leaving trash behind, tearing up the trails) has resulted in the closure of many off-road trails. This has affected both public and private lands. This has even affected the famed Rubicon Trail.
Here in states with land controlled by the BLM, you have to pay a yearly fee to access any of the public lands. Every hobby comes at a price.
Of course there are some who are too tight to spend money for any reason. They complain about the cost of new Jeeps. They don't spend the money to restore an old Jeep. They claim that people who spend their own money to go to Camp Jeep are stupid.
