We always like to checkout The Toledo Blade's articles about major Jeep events. Toledo, Ohio is afterall, the home of the assembly plants for the Jeep Wrangler and Liberty (the Grand Cherokee and Commander is built in Detroit, MI and the upcoming Compass will be produced in Belvedere, IL).
Their article on the public's reaction to the 2007 Wrangler at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) has quotes from Scott Yakovich, a Milwaukee native who went to Detroit to check out the new Wrangler and Rick Brian of Cincinnati who is an avid off-roader. The article has some interesting quotes about the new Wrangler as well as some takes on the Compass.
From the article:
But the owner of five Jeeps - including two Wranglers - said he does like the redesigned SUV’s dent-resistent front fenders and solid axles, both of which will be on X, Sahara, and Rubicon models. Having a two-speed transfer case with a 4.0:1 low-range gear ratio, electric front and rear-axle lockers, and heavy-duty axles from Toledo’s Dana Corp. as standards on the Rubicon model is a plus for off- roading, Mr. Brian said.
Be sure to check out the entire article.
