AutoWeek.com is reporting that momentum is gaining for a production version of the concept Jeep Gladiator.
Comments made by Frank Klegon at the Chicago auto show, a Chrysler group executive vice president, indicate that they are hearing the calls for a production version of the popular concept truck.
From the article:
"That is pretty hot," Klegon said at the auto show here. "I like the Gladiator. I think it is real cool. That (concept) was built on a product base, it has a platform, and that has a much better chance of seeing the light of day than something that doesn't. It is a pretty interesting execution."

![]() I just got back from the Chicago Auto Show, and the '07 Wrangler is absolutely Awesome...
It is every improvement that needed to be made to the TJ, and nothing that need to be changed left alone... The base '07 really does pick up where the TJ Rubicon left off. As far as other models off of the JK platform--- The Gladiator is a no-brainer, I saw it last year also, and it was no concept, it was production ready...build it... A 2-door LWB JK...Jeep is working on a 4-door Wrangler, and that is great, but I would like to see the LWB 2 door also stay, or add 2 rear suicide doors...heck, they have the archeticture in the Gladiator... A SWB 2 seat pickup or 2 seats and 2 jump seats in the back of the cab...I have said it before, American Expedition Vehicles should set up shop in the Toledo Ohio shop and pull semi-completed JK's off of the line and finish them as BRUTE pickups, instead of tearing apart Wranglers. I believe that the Jeep flexible assembly line can offer this variety of vehicles off the same platform, so why not make all of the Jeep customers happy. |

![]() If they do not build this it would be the same as when they failed to build the Dakar only worse, they should have learned from their mistake not repeat it.

![]() I don't see what DCX could be thinking about here. This one is a no-brainer. It's obviously a production ready concept based on a new to be produced platform. The response has been tremendous for this rig.
DCX just build the damn thing! Build it and we will come to buy it...I know I will. |
