From a Chrysler Group press release.

Camp Jeep® 2007, the annual three-day mix of off-road driving and other family-friendly outdoor activities, will be held July 26-28 at the Oak Ridge Estate in Nelson County, Va., near Charlottesville.

Details about specific events will be announced later, but will definitely include trails for 4-wheeling, vehicle displays, activities for all ages, food and musical entertainment, and the opportunity for owners to talk about the ins and outs of their vehicles with Jeep engineers.

Registration for Camp Jeep, which is open only to Jeep® vehicle owners, has been reduced by $100 from last year's fees. Early bird registration is $245 per vehicle through March 31. After that, Camp Jeep registration is $295 per vehicle. Registration and additional information are available at www.jeep.com/campjeep.

"Camp Jeep is one of the premier owner-loyalty events in America, and the Blue Ridge Mountains are a beautiful backdrop for this hugely popular event," said John Plecha, Director – Jeep Marketing and Global Communications, Chrysler Group. "The last time Camp Jeep was held in Charlottesville in 2004, nearly 10,000 Jeep vehicle owners and their families attended, making it the best-attended Camp Jeep ever. The Jeep vehicle lineup has expanded since then. That, plus the lower registration fees, and we could set a new attendance record this year."

Four Jeep vehicles had been introduced, but were not yet on sale, when Camp Jeep was held last year at Road America at Elkhart Lake, Wis. New owners of the redesigned 2007 Jeep Wrangler 2-door, the all-new 2007 Wrangler Unlimited 4-door, the all-new 2007 Jeep Compass and the all-new 2007 Jeep Patriot will be driving those vehicles to Camp Jeep for the first time. They will be joined by owners driving other models in the Jeep family: the Jeep Liberty, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Commander. As in previous Camp Jeep events, owners are also expected to arrive with such Jeep heritage vehicles as CJs, Cherokees and Wagoneers.

This is the sixth time that Camp Jeep has been held at the Oak Ridge Estate. The first Camp Jeep was held in Camp Hale, Colo., in 1995.

The Bluetec is only available in 45 states currently.

However DCX and VW are working together to make it 50 state legal. Honda/Acura will also be bringing their ultra clean/ultra efficient diesel to the US within the next two years.

Both of these actions should improve the outlook of diesel in the US.

I pray that everyone there mentions 2007 JEEP WRANGLER AND WRANGLER UNLIMITED CRD OR BLUETEC, or just talk about getting a worthwhile engine in the new wranglers, I drove an unlimited and it was pathetic compared to all the jeeps I have owned and driven in the past!

I was @ Camp Jeep 2006 and trust me when I tell you that the engineers overwhelmingly heard that we want a diesel engine. Hopefully the Bluetec will address the emissions regulations. If we look at it, the 2.8L that was in the KJ wasn't available for sale in all states due to emissions laws. IIRC, the bluetec is supposedly only going to be available for sale in 46 or 48 states due to emissions.

The JK engineer that I spoke with told me that 3 out of 4 people that spoke with him wanted a diesel option....trust me, they know. Now it's up to them to get it to meet emissions specs. alternatively, we could lobby our local legislative representative and request that they 'ease up' on diesel EPA regulations.

I was hoping to get a CRD Rubicon in March when my current lease is up. If the diesel were available I'd buy it right now.
If Jeep can't get the CRD to us, then I'll just lease it and give this pathetic gasser back in 2 years.
By 2009 Land Rover might even bring in a CDi Defender soft-top (oh snap!), or I'll pick-up an '08 CRD Rubicon used.

Had to cancel going to the 2006, but am registered and ready for this one. I think it is also interesting that it is being held at the Oak ridge estate (which holds the record for the largest attendence). The other thing I find interesting is the drop in price from almost $400 to $300.

Went to the one in 2004 and had a great time, looking forward to checking out the JK's and seeing what the engineers have to say
