I discovered CU was full of BS over 40 years ago. I can't understand how they've been able to stay in business all this time.

If the readers of Consumer Reports are dumb enough to solely judge their next vehicle purchase on somebody elses metrics, they do not deserve a Wrangler.

Figure out what is important to you, then pursue it! Don't be sheep led to the slaughter of souless Hondas like I almost was years ago.
Thank God I purchased the original 4-Runner and had some fun breaking it and fixing it, running with the top-off. It was a mess, but it got me thinkin' "this is fun" and "Those Jeeps look fun too...hhmmmmmm".

Consumer Reports should stick to what they are good at: Reviewing toasters and magazines.
It's like having your mechanic write annual articles for the Wall Street Journal. Sure he could write it, but would it be worth reading?

I'd like to see Four Wheeler or JP Mag purchase a Prius and run it hard throught he Tank Trap (downhill of course) then drop the results in the parking lot of Consumer Reports!

To try to evaluate a Wrangler with standards usually attributed to sedans is like trying to evaluate a Camry (puke!... excuse me...) on an off-road course or ramp travel index.

This nonsense has been going on for years, with CR refusing to reevaluate their "one-size-fits-all" criteria. Might as well throw motorcycles in the mix and give them trashy ratings for wind noise. Pompous idiots!

Consumer Reports is a joke and this straight up proves it -- how can there be such a disparity between sales numbers and their half-*&@ review -- because they are a joke.

These are the same dolts that blindly pick Toyotas & Hondas year-after-year-after-year on their top 10 list(s). Hard to believe they have a circulation of >4M! Gee, I was surprised to see their publishing headquarters is based in Tokyo.

Recently my wife and I went on a 630 mile (11 hours) roadtrip in our 03 Wrangler. It was a comfortable and fun drive (we never got tired) - we had no problems keeping up with any traffic and the engine loafed along at 2k rpm which kept things pretty quiet. The year before we borrowed my father's Honda Accord on a shorter 5-hour jaunt to Texas - it was absolutely miserable. Our butts fell asleep in the incredibly uncomfortable seats and after only an hour on the road, both of us were getting ready to pass out. The ride was no better or worse on the highway than the Wrangler so really the only thing it had going for it was better mileage (about 30mpg vs 20) - of course the smaller fuel tank had us stopping just as much as the Wrangler so no great time-saver either. Now - guess which vehicle CR would rate higher? If you want answers on which DVD player, car, dishwasher, etc, much better more subjective information is available online in forums - I would never listen to CR.

I think it shows their mental capacity to compare a Jeep Wrangler to a BMW or a Cadillac or an Acura...

How about comparing a BMW to a Wrangler in a FOOT of snow, see who is dead last then (DIX).

Oh yeah...is Consumer Reports. The same people that go to a store and quite literraly pull apart an entire freezer section to pick out 9 tubs of Ben and Jerrys ice cream that came out of the factory on the same day.

Consumer Reports: How about an Off Road rating?

CR has only one criteria they go by. Wrangler and a 3-series BMW are just not in the same class, you can't compare one to another, but they do. I stopped paying attention to CR long time ago.
