Concept/DemonstrationJeep Renegade B-Roll Video
Posted by mike on 2008/1/14 13:15:00 (1089) reads

Chrysler LLC released some b-roll footage of the Jeep Renegade. As b-roll footage, it has no audio, and is meant for news outlets to use the video while their talking head tells you how awesome it is.

Regardless, if a picture is worth a thousand words, then a 3-minute, 24-second video is worth much, much more. Enjoy.

I'm not going to lie... I like it.

I do think it's too smooth looking. I'd prefer to see more definition between the fender flares and the hood (like the Hurricane). Perhaps seats that sit up more so it doesn't look so much like a sports car.

At any rate, there's no reason for any of us to whine... when was the last time Jeep put out a concept that made it to production?! Willy's 1 & 2... Gladiator... Hurricane... Rescue... Dakar...

Even if the name was retained in a production vehicle, they never made it into production looking anything like the concept. All those who hate it can rest assured, we'll never see this vehicle in production (though I'll once again admit that I don't think this is a bad idea for a production vehicle honestly).

I agree they should have focused on getting the CRD Wrangler to the US. Unfortunately the auto industry lives & dies by their concepts and pipeline of new vehicles.
IMHO I like this thing. The bodywork reminds me of a 4x4 Viper.
I'm glad to see a high MPG concept out of Jeep. Hopefully they'll stop teasing us with these d@mn Bluetec concepts, and put one in something people will actually buy!
CRD Grand Cherokee? WTF were those germans thinking?

And to think I was ragging on GM's hummer concept the other day. At least the Hummer is an actual truck and not a Geo storm with big wheels and a speed buggy body. WTF IS JEEP THINKING!!!

...Flash, this news bulletin just in... Richard Simmons has recently been appointed as VP in charge of the design team at Jeep... all further concept vehicles will be gay. Stay tuned for further updates.

Well, it rolls downhill... but I still think the name Jeep should be used for lightweight trucks instead of sports cars. This vehicle looks like something Barbie would drive. Unfortunately she'll have to choose between Midge or Ken, because there's no back seat. I suppose it's a dune buggy of some sort, but it would be a hard sell without that rear seat.

If the Jeep engineers were REALLY smart, they'd give us what we've been asking for... a diesel 4x4 Wrangler with decent mileage. Why is that so hard??

Ummm, yea,..... seeing it move does not help.

What a dumb looking thing.
And to think a "real" car company thinks this is good!.....to put this thing out there even as a concept, is not good.
Things must be worse at Chrysler than we thought!
They usto have the coolest concept vehicles.
