There's been a couple of stories in the news lately about Jeep giveaways.

Reader MarkH forwarded us a link about a chocolate Jeep contest taking place today in Cleveland, Ohio. Apparently, the contest will involve licking chocolate versions of the various Jeep model - the first person to "lick their way through" each model will have the opportunity to win a Jeep Liberty (a real one - not a chocolate one). Carscoop has all the details.

Chrysler also announced that the first big prize that Drew Carey gave away on The Price Is Right was a Jeep Wrangler.

“I used to have a Jeep Wrangler. Really fun car,” Carey told his guest, a hefty guy named Bernard from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Once Bernard saw the Wrangler, he dashed over to check it out, leaving Carey behind.

But before he could drive off with the Wrangler, he had to play the Money Game, in which he had to correctly pick the first two and last two numbers in the price of the vehicle. Everybody was a winner on the first day of the new season of The Price is Right, and Bernard quickly picked the winning numbers - $19,675.
Once he won, after a look of disbelief towards his wife offstage, Bernard rushed over to the Jeep for a second time, gave a Price is Right model an hug, and jumped in the Wrangler as if he would drive off.

Word is the video is somewhere on the official Price is Right web site, but we couldn't find it.

UPDATE - 10/19/07 - The results of the great Jeep lick-off are in - Anne Gemkow, of Chicago, won the all-new Jeep Liberty. Check out the video in this week's "Under the Pentastar":
