At the NY International Auto Show, they showed the Jeep
Rescue and the guy there said that it has moved
**beyond** the "concept stage". I gathered that you can
expect to see it next year or the following at the latest as a
production vehicle. It's ABOUT TIME Jeep came out with
something really exciting and worthwhile! In the meantime
- my Jeep Cherokee Sport continues to serve me well.

I am an EMS Chief in a rural are in Ohio. I have a 1997 Jeep Wrangle that I bought new and it is used on a daily basis as our first responder vehicle for EMS.My jeep has been used in numerous rescue operations to get to patients/victims in wooded areas etc... When is is coming???? LOVE LOVE LOVE it.....More information, price of vehicle...I want one....

HELLO? What are you waiting for? If you build this RV from HEAVEN. You can make up for the past 4 yrs of no cherokee and something called a liberty. We all have moved on since '01. Get rid of the liberty or keep it. If you build this rescue, it would take over as the best jeep ever created!

Think about it...it has the style of a wrangler, more power than the grand sissy, and is larger than the cherokee sports. Its all of the jeeps put together=the ULTIMATE jeep. I sick and tired of seeing every other producer come out with a mid-sized SUV so they can pretend they have a suv. If you build this rescue, you have all those people running to their dealers wanting to trade them in so they can get this one.

Do the math, everyone likes it. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

here is my comment I am 41 years old and am on my 8th Jeep. Marketing the Jeep Rescue will revive the spirit of the Jeep, the spirit which the public embraced during and shortly after
WWII. If Chrysler builds "JR" and makes it affordable for us family Jeepers'it will take over the market!!! Please build it!!

The Rescue is big, H2 big. Just look at the tires. It's an H2 sized 4-door wrangler and it looks pretty sweet. Any thoughts of DC coming out with a production version of the rescue with an MSRP under $30k is not realistic. It will be a higher priced vehicle the fits in between the Grand Cherokee and H2 in price.

This makes me think that DC may have actually been
listening to its core group of customers, who hate the
Liberty and pine for the Cherokee (or who want a
Wrangler with XJ-type functionality).

Dial down the Hummer/Land Rover design cues a bit,
keep all those Star Wars doodads optional, and the
Rescue will put Jeep back on track. I guess you could
say it'll "Rescue" the brand.

By the way DC, scrap the Treo, and never make us loyal Jeepers look at anything that useless again and nobody gets hurt.

It looks great but its way big for the average person. The hummer is huge and priced to match so i expect if they build this it will be priced in the upper 30+ and im betting the +...Great looking no doubt a smaller version is just what im looking for just maybe it looks like the new wrangler coming out in the next couple of years......

If the next Liberty or Wrangler looked like this how many would want one?

Boo! Build a real Jeep.

If I wanted a hummer or a land rover, I'd buy those. If I want another Jeep, guess I'll have to build it myself since DC has forgotten what a Jeep is.

The only bright spot on this hummer copy is the diesel motor. Now if that were in a real Jeep....

They have too. There are way too many Hummers out there. This looks totally Jeep. Hummer only wishes they had the history Jeep has. Hummer was the one that copied Jeeps 7 slot grill.
I will be replacing my Grand Cherokee and Wrangler with one of these the day they go on sale!

The Rescue is without a doubt the best Jeep concept since the very similar Dakar. DC, please do not let the Rescue suffer the same fate as the Dakar.

Bring the concept to market as a Rubicon model, price it under $30,000 and you got a hugh hit on your hands.

If they build it I will buy it. I don't see it as a hummer or land rover want to be, rather a jeep improvment on a good idea. I love my wrangler but i have to be honest more room would be nice. And I really don't want to take something like a Yukon out in the woods, wouldn't trust it. Not sure I need cameras under my rig, so hopefully some of those things will be optional. Diesel power and fuel economy will be great.

“If you build it, they will come.” This thing blows away the competition. No way it sells for under $30K, nor should it. Too many compromises would have to be made. Those wanting a smaller vehicle that sells for less than $30K might have to settle for styling cues and the diesel engine (if they’re lucky) from the Rescue. I imagine this vehicle pretty much as is retails for at least $60K if not more. Fine. If nothing else, make it a low production vehicle. Just make it!

Whatever you do, don’t make it a luxury vehicle. That’s not to say it can’t be road worthy. I just don’t want to see another expensive SUV such as DC’s own Mercedes Benz G-Class that anyone is afraid to get dirty inside or out. And please don’t skimp on the details when going from concept to production vehicle. I love the body colored wheels, the instrument cluster, the open-air roof, and … hell, I love it all. Granted, I don’t think most people, myself included, will ever need some of the extras such as the cameras underneath, but please don’t simply eliminate those extras on the production vehicle to cut costs. Instead, make the satellite telephone, the remote-control winches, the canvas roof, and others optional accessories.

In addition to a working search and rescue vehicle, the Rescue is a standard bearer for Jeep. It’s not cheap, and it’s probably not practical for the average consumer, but DC must build the Rescue. The trickle down effect in terms of brand image, styling, and technology can only be a positive.

IMO, it will never be made. DC is just using the concept to test reaction to it's styling for the next Wrangler and Liberty.

But I sure as hell would buy one if they did make it!!!

Since I feel lazy and don't want to research it how does the Rescue compare in size to other Jeep models such as the Grand, Wrangler and Cherokee?
I wonder if this will comparable to a H2 or the upcoming smaller H3. I hope it is somewhat smaller than a H2 instead more the size of the current Grand Cherokee. I would feel quilty driving something as big as H2 plus that means it would be out of most people's price range. It needs to be under $30,000.

But be certain not to alienate loyal Jeepers by pricing too far upwards. Also give us a less expensive diesel option, like the diesel engine destined for the Liberty.

Actually, Hummer has as much Jeep history as DC. Hummer was AM General, a division of AMC. They should have as much a right to the 7 slot grille as DC - in a sense.

Just give me the Dakar and a TJ-8, both under 20k.

Actually Jon's right! Hummer took more cues from
Jeep than the other way round! Jeep had the boxy
passenger compartments years ago,(before CJ's)
the 7 slot grill,flat feners, The Hummer2 and Hummer3 really ripped off the Jeep Cherokee body, especially the last model put out.
I think the extended Wrangler(FINALLY!!) and the
Rescue show a glimmer of hope! Buy those Wranglers
before 2006 rolls around and new safety laws are in place

If Jeep doesn't make a production version of the RESCUE concept vehicle then they are idiots. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
