Wow! Great news! Jeep sales were up 5% in March!
Whoa - not so fast...
While sales for the Wrangler were stellar (up 58% from March 06), sales for the rest of the lineup pretty much continue to suck. The Liberty, Commander, and Grand Cherokee all posted double-digit percentage losses.

![]() That is amazing. The Wrangler is now the #1 seller in the Jeep line. Maybe solid axles and real trail capability really do mean something, like some of us have been saying all along. If they had that 50 mpg Turbo Diesel Wrangler that was recently introduced for other countries they would be selling like hotcakes here. Regular gas is selling for $4.21 a gallon near Death Valley, and $3.35 in my City. Ouch!

![]() I've owned more than 10 Grand Cherokees and 1 Commander, in January I bought the Wrangler Unlimited and it by far is the most versatile, fun and sharp looking vehicle I have ever owned. I cannot believe the amount of "stuff" I have been able to pack in the back of the Wrangler, it's incredible, I totally see why they are flying out of the showrooms, @ 25K it's a steal.

![]() I've read the sales ratio is 2 to 1 with the Unlimited outselling it's smaller sibling. Personally I like the 2 door better and bought one in mid-March. Doing my part to boost Jeep sales

![]() It would be interesting to know the split between the Jeep Unlimited (4 door) and the 2 door Wrangler. I've seen a lot of '07 Unlimiteds on the road. I've only seen two 2-door '07 Wranglers and they were both at the Texas Spur Jamboree.
