MiscellaneousNational Jeep Meet & Greet at Hooters Nationwide
Posted by mike on 2003/1/30 23:00:00 (2934) reads

Love your Jeep? Love Hooters? Then this is the event for you!

This is what being a Jeep-owner is all about - volunteers from around the country have organized a nationwide Jeep owners meet and greet at local Hooters restaurants around the country at 7PM (local time) on February 6, 2003.

The main organizer behind the event is Roger Ragland, who floated the idea on the Quadratec Bulletin Board and JeepsUnlimited Forums. The idea caught on like wildfire and Jeepers from around the country offered to organize their local meet and greet. Depending on the location, some Hooters restaurants will be offering discounted food and drink, and product giveaways (Hooters Magazines and calendars). Quadratec has also gotten involved with a number of the locations, providing gift packages that may include key rings, bumper stickers, and Quadratec gift certificates.

Meet & Greet locations as of 1/30/03 include:

I'm so glad that someone found a way to meet fellow Jeep owners. I just got my new Jeep this past weekend and am looking forward to attending the Meet n' Greet in King of Prussia, PA. I only have one question: When is it?

I called Hooters corporate about this and they've never heard of it, is it just done at a bunch of locals stores?

I attended the meet in Cincinnati but, I was a little disappointed. Not in the turnout , there were about 15 or 20 Jeeps in the lot but, with the actual meeting and greeting part. Once inside you could not tell who were the Jeep people and who were the regular customers. Of course it had to be snowing outside so there was really no one mingling about the Jeeps which didn't help. Like I said in my previous post I hope they do it again when the weather breaks.

I agree Terri, this is a great idea that I hope becomes a regular thing. How about four times a year (winter, spring, summer and fall). I am looking forward to attending the meet here in Cincinnati but, its suppose to be cold and
snowy which will hinder the checking out of everybody elses Jeeps. That won't stop me but it probably will keep numbers down compared to a warm weather event.
