Jeep® Patriot Concept
|
The legendary Jeep® brand hints at global portfolio expansion and explores all-new territory with the world premiere of two compact SUV concepts—the Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass Rallye. The Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass Rallye concepts are compact Jeep 4x4s that would deliver fun, freedom, utility, capability, as well as the potential for exceptional fuel economy and interior flexibility—all at a great value. The two concepts make their world premiere at the Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA) on September 12.
The Jeep® Patriot concept offers a modern interpretation of classic Jeep styling: rugged, strong and capable. It would appeal to young buyers looking to join the brand in a genuine Jeep vehicle that would deliver fun and freedom at a great value. Jeep Patriot not only looks like a Jeep, but all-new Jeep off-road technology would ensure Patriot could be a Jeep Trail Rated 4x4, making it the most capable vehicle in its class.

![]() Actually I drive an alternative to the H3, my trusty XJ. While I do like the mini-me Hummer's looks, it is overpriced and underpowered, without a lot of space inside. You're right about the four door Wrangler (hopefully Dakar-like) but I'm steppin' in line for a Gladiator

![]() I think if you are looking for an alternative to the Hummer H3 you should think about the forthcoming Rescue (4-door Wrangler). I have a feeling it is about to make the H3 the biggest laughing stock in America.
By the way, who here thinks DCX could "help out" its domestics rivals by offering to buy the Land Rover and Hummer brands from Ford and GM respectively? ![]() ![]() As far as the Patriot... I am anxiously looking to see it's specs because it could be a fun vehicle that would be inexpensive enough to play with and not have to worry if you break it. |

![]() As much as I actually like the look of the Hummer H3 (hate to admit it), this looks better and may end up with as much usable space. I wonder where they plan to put the spare, and what the engine options will be. Hybrid, diesel, or both? Reminds me of a cool custom XJ, so of course I'd like it.

![]() While I am a manual guy myself, given the choice of a conventional automatic and a CVT, I would take a CVT.
In this case, all of the other automakers who have delved int the CVT arena have made their mistakes, and DCX gets the benefits of learning from those mistakes without having to pay for them. |

![]() This is a very competitive class of vehicles especially when considering the years of experience Subaru brings. Jeep will be competing with the Forester which features over eight inches of ground clearance, ft four wheel drive, and an optional turbo that will crank sub six second 0-60 times with the manual tranny. I would like to see Jeep suceed and I hope they don't totally "feminize" this vehicle with cvt but instead provide such options as diesel, turbo gas, and manual transmissions for the performance-oriented driver.
