Not afraid to get dirty, Jeep® today revealed the all-new 2007 Wrangler Unlimited from underneath six tons of mud.
Outside of the Javits Center, the beginning of the Jeep press conference featured only a simple mound of mud on stage, but quickly became one of the dirtiest vehicle reveals in New York International Auto Show history. Within minutes, a fire truck roared in with sirens blaring. Several individuals emerged from the truck and blasted mud off the first-ever four-door Wrangler. When uncovered, Jeep's classic American icon debuted with a radical four-door open-air design — the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
The mudslinging didn’t stop there. Jeep also made a splash with the world debut of the all-new 2007 Jeep Patriot. Executives christened the newest, most capable and most affordable compact SUV into the Jeep lineup. But forget champagne. Jeep Patriot wants to get dirty, so the crowd got into the mix, dumping barrels and balloons full of mud onto Patriot to give it a proper welcome to the Jeep brand.
"In true Jeep fashion, we decided to get outside and play in the mud to introduce the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and 2007 Jeep Patriot," said Joe Eberhardt, Executive Vice President – Global Sales, Marketing and Service, Chrysler Group. "No other vehicle in the world can replicate the Wrangler Unlimited's unique combination of four-door convenience, open-air driving experience and unmatched off-road capability. And no other vehicle in the compact SUV class can match Patriot's price or capability."

![]() I like the look of the full doors and hardtop. I have an 05 rubi unlimited soft top that i turned over to the wife due to my high mileage driving and high fuel prices and she luvs it! She just wants a four door...might solve the problem right here.
It would be nice to see fuel economy a little better than 16mpg maybe 20 i think this could be done with a diesel. The 04-06 unlimited are 103" wheelbase and its even stretched more on the 07 to 116"...wow cool...If i wouldnt get hammered on a trade-in i would purchase the hardtop 4 door in a heartbeat...I would like to see em ride a drive a tad better than mine...which is fine around town but not too comfortable for extended drives at highway speeds at least in my area....I know its a wrangler... Im beting with 116" and all new design it rides and drive very nice...heading to a dealer as soon as i see one on a lot...for a test drive...really cool......Not hummerish IMO...more like hummers are jeepish to me....as jeep has been around far far longer and hummers where just copies and enlargements of jeeps..... |

![]() I love it and will most likely replace my KJ with one.
However, I cannot understand why Jeep continues to give their 4x4s such poor payload and towing ratings. Land Rover absolutely kill us, their D90 has a 7700lb towing rating versus Jeep's 3000lb. The Wrangler's payload is less than a PT Cruiser! 1000lb payload? You ARE kidding. C'mon guys, get serious. We know the Wrangler can do it, but some of us want to do it legally. |

![]() Kudos to Jeep for a great presentation - and a great vehicle! I'd like one, but I'm too attached to my 97. Maybe someday...
