The Nitro production info can be found here...I think it looks great, better then the Liberty. The new KK Liberty will hopefully get a bit bigger like the Nitro

Other good info is the new Four Liter engine.

The Dodge Nitro R/T features a new 4.0-liter V-6 engine that delivers 255 hp (190 kW) @ 5,800 rpm and 275 lb.-ft. torque (360 Nom) @ 4,000 rpm.

Hopefully this will also make it into the Jeep brand.

It is a shame that Dodge is using the 4.0 designation first in the Nitro. Jeep missed the ball in not putting the 4.0 in the 2 door Wrangler. My guess, now, is it will probably make an appearence in the new 4 door Wrangler.

I do like the Nitro's look much, much, better than the Liberty's.

I agree but we will have to go and test drive the Wrangler with the 3.8L and then drive across town and drive the Nitro with the new 4.0L.

The 3.8L may have much more low end toque. I hear that the new 4.0L will be making its way into the new Sebring and Avenger. So it may not be suited for an off-roader like the Wrangler. This is just an opinion for them not doing what you suggested.

While I read your previous post, this was the first time I read an offical DCX press release indicating the Patriot was going to be produced.

Thanks for the update on future models.

The Partiot is going to be on display along with the new Compass and Wrangler at the Chicago Auto Show. Was the Partiot at New York?
