ChryslerGroup announced some details of the upcoming Compass today. The starting price of the 2-wheel-drive model will be $15,985 while the 4X4 version will start at $17,585. The Compass will not be trail-rated, but they mentioned that the Patriot will have the trail-rated badge.
One of the big features they touted was its fuel economy - it "approaches 30mpg". They also mentioned that the Compass should compete well against the Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4, Kia Sportage, and the Saturn Vue.
Expect to see the Compass at dealerships in the 3rd Quarter.

![]() I know there has been a lot of crap flying around about this vehicle, but I think it's a smart move on the part of Jeep to get a vehicle into the marketplace that gets decent gas mileage and is priced below $20K. I'm a die hard Jeeper and feel they should be used off road as much as possible, but I wouldn't mind one of these for my 45 mile/day commute.
