I found this link on the Rubicon Owners Forum. Apparently it is a 'look see' at the 07 Wrangler and 07 Unlimited for the folks that build them. Some interesting shots for sure:

(note from Mike: there's a total of 61 photos here, including lots of the underside and lots of detailed photos. This site is a must-see for Wrangler die-hards!)

![]() I wonder, is the 3.8L v6 engine brand new? or is it used in any other vehicle?
I wonder how well it will fair with the old but trusty 4.0L inline? How would it compare in terms of economy? And a seriusly would love the 5.8 Hemi as an option.... Enough space? |

![]() I have a 2004 Unlimited which I dearly love. In all the engine discussion about the the 4dr. nothing has been said about possible use of the Cummins diesel. Is there a reason or is DC just determined to use the Mercedes engine? I want a Rubicon, manual transmission and a diesel (if possible).

![]() Looks like a Honda Element--but at least it's got a decent 4WD system...

![]() Its a shame that jeep finally has some really great vehicles hitting the market and gas prices are $3+ maybe $4+ if any hurricanes or more instability in the oil supply..... I sure would like to trade my rubi unlimited for one of these new models but 16mpg at $3+ and probably $30K for the rubi version....its outta my range. Soon only the rich or those with lots disposable income will driving the fun and cool low mpg vehicles or those that are stuck in em....

![]() Has anyone seen or heard anything about possible soft tops? Everything I've seen is the sunrider hard top.

![]() I find it amazing that adding 20" and 2 doors only adds 211 pounds to the Wrangler for the Unlimited Rubicon with manual tranny.

![]() I guess I am old school on this, but I would have liked to see the JK with the the windshield down to see how the single hinge works.
As for seeing a hemi, I too would like to see one in the JK (even after I bought a brand new 06 ruby), but as tight as the 3.8 looks in that engine compartment, you might have to use a really big shoe horn to get it in there. ![]() |

![]() I just can't decide if I like the Unlimited. With the big tires and wheels and boxy back end, it looka like the offspring of a H1Alpha and a Scion Minibox.
The room would be nice, and so would a Hemi (maybe!). I just can't help thinking the JK will be more fun to drive. I'll definitely have a chance to drive the Unlimited before I get the JK, though. It will probably come down to price and availability. I wonder how delayed the Rubicon's are going to be. Also, is this picture the red rock Crystal color? Is the bug picture the navy or the graystone? |

![]() Those 18" rims don't look half bad on the 4-door. The fit the long wheelbase well.

![]() I'm a bit confused on the 4 door's release. All the video links say fall of '06, but the Jeep website says summer.
Which one is right (hoping it's summer)? Also, how much more do any of you think they will be compared to the current '06 models? I'm leaning toward a Sahara myself, so I'm hoping they are lower priced than the Rubis. |
