Anytime those "poor people" want to grab one of the numerous posted HELP WANTED signs, roll up their sleeves and get to work, there's nothing stopping them from being self-sufficient (if not prosperous) in these Untied States. You might not always find the job you want but you can always find a job if you need.

On another nerve, if U don't vote in the U.S., your criticism of our leadership will be ignored. To be fair (and balanced) we in the states won't criticize the (absence of any) Canadian leadership and military capability, either.

Under PRESIDENT Bush, we've been terrorist-incident-free since 9/11/01. I know his detractors say, "That's the only success you can point to!". That's plenty good enough for me, and many others. Our Democratic Congress has about ~9% approval rating, last I checked. If there's criticism to be levied, they're a well-deserved target.

As a matter of fact, yes I did serve in the military: as a Naval Officer on a fast-attack nuclear sub. But that's a story for another day. So much for the "obvious". I forget, how many nuclear submarines does Canada have? Ooops, I slipped again...

Remember, other than your latitude, and the fact that most of the world can make its own ice, the only ones watching your backs are us Yanks. But feel free to sling cheap shots at the leader of the free world. As I've said, it's easily ignored.

On a more serious note, outside of the Canadian newspapers' editorial pages, of course our countries & militaries share a mutual respect, and the U.S. always appreciates its faithful NATO allies. Peace!
