Jeep® lovers – tired of seeing YouTube videos of your Jeep outdoor adventures getting overlooked by the Academy?

Well, Jeep marketing is offering a little limelight. They’re looking for pictures from anyone in a Jeep vehicle who knows how to have fun (uh, family fun folks). They’re going to use the images to create a Jeep mosaic ad for the Web and print.

Okay, so it’s no Oscar statue, but Jeeps and red carpets don’t go well together anyway.

Send your contributions to jeeppics@organic.com by June 20th.

Most formats are accepted. Along with your photo, send your name, where the photo was taken. You can also write a short caption and, if you wish, include up to 30 seconds of audio and a URL of a site where the photo is displayed on the Internet.

Real people using and enjoying real world Jeep vehicles. I can't think of a better way to attract potential buyers than that.

Real Jeep owners driving real Jeeps, doesn't sound too lame to me. Now I could change my mind after I see it.

They want ot make an ad with real Jeeps and real Jeep owners, sounds like a great idea to me.

are you f'n kidding me? this is perhaps the lamest marketing idea they've ever had. maybe everyone in auburn hills is too freaked out to approve anything remotely interesting now that the big dog is watching them.

I actually think this is a good idea.
If you've seen the other "Greatest moments" video floating around youtube, you'll understand that they're trying to promote the Jeep brand as a platform for the good times in your life. Sounds a lot more like the Jeep ads from the 60s and 70s back when Jeep was about getting out and having fun... not mileage, shopping bag hooks and other soccer-mom features.

Your response also sounds like someone who might have something to do with the campaign...who searches youtube for "greatest moments" videos and thinks about ads from the 60s and 70s? Actually, if you search youtube for "jeep greatest moments" you get NOTHING related to jeep. Go ahead and search for "greatest moments" and all you get are sports highlights. The user-generated-media "fun" idea is an old theme that isn't being translated into today's market.

Talk about the #1 issue that consumers are worried about (mileage) by using the bluetec GC. How a) diesel is better for your wallet b) better for the environment/cleaner burning fuel, c) you can have MORE fun because you can literally go farther than traditional gas engines can take you and finally d) while highlighting the capability aspects of the vehicle.

Jeep does not have to worry about cornering the "outdoor fun" market. They've got it hands down: They're not scary and wasteful like Hummer. They're also not bland and boring like import suvs.

Jeep already has a vehicle that if positioned correctly, could set off a few lightbulbs in the minds of consumers.

Wow, TK... do you always sound this angry or are you just having a bad day? I wasn't suggesting anyone searches youtube for "greatest moments," but there WAS a new Jeep ad on there running with this title. Simmer down, bro.
