MiscellaneousVideo: Down the Lion's Back in Moab

If you're really into off-roading with your Jeep, then you've no doubt heard of The Lion's Back trail outside Moab, Utah. This legendary trail is now closed to the public (it recently became private land), but the guys over at The Adventure Blog recently posted a 1st-person video of the descent.

It's not the most exciting video as the driver keeps his speed really low to avoid any "fun", but it really gives you a good sense of the steepness and exposure.

I dunno. When my kid climbed it in his Scrambler a couple years ago, I almost went into shock waiting for him to come back down. I was at the bottom of the hill not knowing if he was alive or if he went over the side for like 10 minutes - he was up there phoning a friend "hey, guess where I am", while his poor daddy was cold, clammy, and ready to puke. This was a day after he broke a yoke and as it turns out, fried his rear locker. Good times.

Ahhh Moab. The happiest place on Earth. The Lions Back is a strange one. It's one of the FEW obstacles that looks worse on video than it is in person. Usually, the opposite is true.
