Toyota's FJ VS. Jeep's new 2007 Wrangler Would be really wonderful to take both vehicles through the Rubicon and see how they do. Of course the FJ is "promoted" as conquring the famous California trail (yea, right... you certainly can't find any photos of the vehicle AFTER the trip!!!). Of course, us 200X Rubicon owners know that stock vehicles can make this trail without body damage, but not without effort. I'd like to see a side-by-side trip with the two vehicles. Come on Jeep, do it... what a promotion!

Re: Toyota's FJ VS. Jeep's new 2007 Wrangler There is really no contest. With front and rear lockers as well as the 4:1 T-case even the Unlimited 07 will walk right past the floundering IFS FJ. You know the FJ is just a chopped short 4-Runner right?
It's a shame Toyota doesn't have the gajones to produce a removable top FJ like before. I also had the first removable top 4-Runner (the one with solid axles like the Jeeps) but that thing was a rust-bucket. Anyway 2007 Unlimited Rubicon CRD.... where do I sign up? |

Re: Toyota's FJ VS. Jeep's new 2007 Wrangler I have been waiting for the FJ to come out. Toyota notified me by email that it was here. I rushed down to see it at the local dealers. What a letdown! It's bigger than my house!
It's going to be a trophy FJ, for the old guys who had an original 30 years ago. They will drive it around town and stop to drink coffee and tell tails of the "good old days and my "Real" FJ from yesteryear!  Give me a REAL JEEP! The 4 door will do find. Thank you! CK

I saw an engine pull on Ebay from Liberty CRD. The engine was complete with computer for approx $3700, and the trans was also available for an extra $1500. As more crashes occur more will become available. So I'm just waiting to see if DCx will provide one for us, or if I have to do it the hard (expensive) way. |

But wasnt the 40 series FJ a Jeep cj copy anyway? I reckon it was. I reckon they should also do a wrangler VS the s@it box hummer h2, and see how that fairs... Seeing as both have distant military orgins....  |
