2007 Wrangler Pre-spec?
I was told by one of the local dealers that the Automatic 07 Wranglers that are on the lots are mostly pre-spec models. Is this true and what does pre-spec mean to me as a buyer?

I was ready to purchase one last Friday but it got snatched up before I was able to seal the deal. If I were to order one, would it be a pre-spec model? I'm looking for help here b/c my dealership wasn't very helpful with the details. Thanks.

Re: 2007 Wrangler Pre-spec?
From my understanding of Pre Spec I believe the following: Pre Spec is the first 5000 units or so. It is just the first group of units that the factory produces and equips. They are all certified as passing quality control and the such. You just need to be quicker on the draw if you want one of them. They may have very low serial numbers as well. Tell us, what price figures were you quoted and what type of options were on the Jeep that got away? Jesus Drives a Jeep 2

Thanks for the response jay01th.

I was looking at a 4x4 Steel Blue Unlimited Sahara Automatic. It had every feature available now except the 6-disc radio and the fuel cap. The dealer was going to sell it to me for $500 over invoice (about $29,200) and give me $12k for my 2003 Accord Ex V6 Sedan. I was very happy with this deal but it fell through.

I'm thinking about placing an order this week but I'm a little hesitant b/c I'm not sure when it will come in. I'm guessing 6-8 weeks but I realize it could be longer. Has anybody received their order yet? Is 6-8 weeks realistic?

Re: 2007 Wrangler Pre-spec?
Hello 07 Wrangler,

I'm happy to hear of your interest in the 2007 Jeep Wrangler . Generally, the allocated time period to take delivery of a newly ordered vehicle is approximately 8-12 weeks. However, it may take a little bit longer dependent upon the demand of the vehicle in the area. The dealership can usually provide with the best time frame for delivery. In addition, once your vehicle reaches its production stage, you can inquire at your dealership to provide you with your Vehicle Order Number ("VON") to keep track of where your vehicle is along the production process.

If you happen to have any other questions/comments, feel free to post. I would be more than happy to be of assistance.
