Re: Water in 2007 rubi hardtop There is a TSB from Jeep regrding this.
Take it to your dealer and do not accept it back until it can pass the 10 minutes under the garden hose full-on test. http://project-jk.com/images/tsb/TSB_23-001-07.pdf All factory hardtop orders are frozen until they get the weather stripping and seals redesigned to address this problem - including mine :( Also, I've read that all MyGig orders are also on hold until further notice, because the leaking tops often drip right down onto the NAV-radio shorting it out. I don't really know why or what they hope to improve on this - short of building a waterproof facia cover, it's going to get wet when the top is left off overnight.

Re: Water in 2007 rubi hardtop It seems to me that Jeep should scrap the 3 pc concept altogether and take down to maybe a 2 pc version where it's just 1 panel over the front 2 seats then issue a recall on the existing 3 pcs and swap them out to the 2pc before too many more go to the public, making it that much harder to perform what seems to be the inevitable.
At least the radio would be safe because the center seal/3-way joint would be eliminated. It it were my company, that's what I'd be considering. |
