GM HEI conversion 86 CJ 7 258 I6
I have an 86 CJ 7 258 I6.

I need to know: a brown wire that runs to the alternator and a red wire that runs to the starter solenoid. They previously spliced into the red coil wire, the one with resistance (6-8.6 volts) which runs to the (bulkhead) fuse box. What do I do with these wires? Do I splice them into the new wire 12 volt ?

Any help would be appreciated.

The wires you are talking about- are they on the new distributor? The brown wire at the alt. is the generator field wire, or voltage sensing wire. the other is direct battery feed to the alt. Let me know if you already solved this issue or not.
