Last week I received an email from Jeep with a link to a survey on the JEEP.CA website asking my opinion on two possible names for the new TJ...."Adventure" and "Freedom". I don't know if this is just applicable to Canada since the Wrangler name can't be used here but thought it was interesting.

My girlfriend received that same email, but she also received the follow-up email:

Your opinion is appreciated and your input was invaluable in helping us determine the name of the all-new 2007 Jeep Brand icon. Jeep is a well known and respected brand around the world and we're always interested in the ideas and suggestions of Jeep owners and enthusiasts like yourself. We know you're eager to learn the results and are pleased to announce that Jeep TJ was the overwhelming favourite among survey respondents.

And now, for the big news – some early details on the all-new 2007 Jeep TJ! This all-new vehicle is powered by a tough new 3.8L V6, has enhanced Jeep go anywhere 4x4 ruggedness and adds new levels of safety, comfort and capability. The wheelbase is longer for improved ride and interior room, and power windows and door locks are available. So in Canada it will remain the Jeep TJ (a good thing, IMO!)

I should also say... "TJ" wasn't even a choice on the survey - there was just a space to write in suggestions. Canadians don't care for American jingoism.

As a follow-up to this, I received another survey last week that said due to some legal stuff, Jeep now has the option of using the Wrangler name in Canada. The survey asked several questions around the idea of using the Wrangler vs. TJ name for the 2007 model.
