upper ball joints Has anyone or heard of anyone having issues with the upper Ball joints in a 2002 Liberty with approx 65000 miles?
Had our Jeep inspected for state inspection and they are telling us the the upper ball joints need to be replaced. I know there have been issues and recalls with the lower joint but..... I am just very scheptial of these folks. I wouldn't normally take our Jeep there but I wanted the tires from there and figured ehh go ahead and get the inspection while it's there.... |

Re: upper ball joints The 2002 and I believe the 2003 Libertys were recalled for bad ball joints.
Until recently all seemed in good order but earlier this month, NHTSA decided to recall all or most model years for ball joint issues. It appears that the issue was never really properly resolved. The mileage you quote is within the range of the new recall. Expect a recall notice sometime in September. This time it is the lower ball joints that are suspect. |
