Info About Natl Forest, RSFMP and Land Closures
To anyone that cares about public land issues, including OHV use this is important. You can read about it at Offroad Info , Western Slope No-Fee Coalition Group, and the Tucson Citiizen

Basically what seems to be going on is the USDA-Forest Service is using the Recreation Site Facility Master Planning (RSFMP) program to lay waste to our National Forests. The Forest Service is trying to say that they aren't getting enough money to run all of the national forests and grasslands. But the watchdog group reports that their funding has increased 22% over the last 10 years, and on top of that it looks like less than 20% of the funding actually gets to the forests. No wonder they need more money.

The folks who are watching this are predicting a lot of public land closings, more areas with restricted use, and new and higher fees at a lot of other properties. It looks like this could definitely effect OHV / 4x4 use at a lot of national forests.
