Jet Stage 1 Chip??? Hey all,
I have a '00 TJ 2.5 with minor drive mods (30 x 10.5 tires & K&N Intake Kit). I recently moved to Coastal South Carolina from Pittsburgh, so my off roading has pretty muched ceased, but I do tow a trailer pretty often for my Jet Ski or Band Equipment. I was considering getting one of the Jet Stage 1 chips. Anyone have any experience with these? Is it worth the $200? Justin |

Re: Jet Stage 1 Chip??? Hey Justin.
The JET chips are OK for modified engines and electronic systems, but honestly on a stock 2.5 with just driveline mods, it won't do you much good. They always claim to boost horses and torque, but you will not feel a difference. They are usuall designed to modify MAP and TPS inputs and allow for more voltage variation from your O2 sensor, which would normally trip a DTC in you PCM. Check you emission laws before you buy, because some states that are using online inspections may cause your Jeep to fail even though everything is running fine. The reason for this is the inspection station's computer will interrogate the Jeep's PCM to check for DTC or any other electronic failures, such as MIL lamp request. If it sees the MIL should be on and it isn't, it will not pass the inspection. Just something to consider. I know this is of no help right now, but one rule to remember when you are looking for more raw power that you FEEL is..."there is no replacement for displacement" Consider a 4.0 swap in the future, or trade up for best range of power and towing capacity.
