Anybody notice the new Wranglers selling slow?
I pass by a Jeep dealership on my way home from work and have noticed the same two wranglers parked outside for atleast three weeks. One is a two door rubicon and the other is a four door sahara. Both are black in color and look pretty sharp. I would have expected them to be selling virtually the same day they were placed on the lot but it doesnt seem to be the case. Anybody know how they are doing on the market right now?

I have noticed the new 4 dr selling in my area. They only get 2 of them and then they are gone. The dealer tells me that I need to pre order one if I am looking for something for myself. JDJ

I noticed the same thing. I've only seen 4 on the road since they've come out. My dealer has plenty on the lot (although he says they are selling like crazy... riiiight). They're too big for my tastes, so I went with the two door.

Re: Anybody notice the new Wranglers selling slow?
Jeep/Chrysler has a lot of explaining to do with its shareholders regarding the launch of the new Wrangler. With x models sitting on dealer lots and a back order of a reported 62000 or so Rubicons not even being built, the Chrysler co. has left a lot of dollars waiting to be deposited some day. No one really pines for a x model and I have not even been able to see a Rubicon let alone set up a test drive. I was interested in September it is now almost February and I hear production is ramping up but its a line I don't want to get in.

If I were to buy a Wrangler today I would get an X model with the s package and a few goodies but like I have said before the engine they have saddled in the new Jeep is such a big let down. I still see an abundance of Wranglers at the dealership down the street. The ones at the autoshow seemed to be getting a good response though the backseat is a something that my fiance and myself both had a trying time getting back into. I long for the day when they release a better engine for the jeep.

What I have noticed is that I don't see any on the road. I saw one about four months ago and haven't seen another since...

I wonder if the sales reports for the Wrangler INCLUDE the Rubicon's on backorder.

If so, then that's why you don't see them..they haven't been built yet. Watch, come summer they'll be all over the place.

I want to have mine by July 1. I'm wondering when I should put the order in.

Depends on where you live, you see them all over Louisiana. The dealer I ordered mine from (X Unlimited 4x4) is moving them rather quickly. If you're gonna' order one, I'd do it asap. There's a back order of Rubicons and any Jeep with a hardtop. There's people that have ordered in November and still haven't gotten theirs yet.

I sure hope the "back order of a reported 62000 or so Rubicons" is NOT true. If it is, there is NO way Chrysler has any reason what so ever to put in a better engine. And that means I am going to have to wait another couple of years before I can trade in my 2003 Rubicon. (not that the 2007 Rubicon isn't as good as my 2003) It's just that my objective in turning in a car is to get one that is better then the one I have. Which reminds me, Anyone know why AEV is no longer advertising a hemi conversion for the Wrangler on their web sight? I gave the Idea a long hard look a few months ago. However, they only converted automatics and I prefer manual.
