A year ago I picked up a 1980 CJ5 with an AMC 360, T176,D300 driveline. I'd like to put a new clutch in it - but am unsure what to get. The engine is obviously not original, it had a 258 in it from the factory. How can I tell what clutch to buy? Suggestions on brand?
Thanks in advance

From what I have read of the forums a lots of guys go the Luk clutch. Plus, the price is good also.

Agreed. I liked the LuK I had so I just installed another. And yes, the price was good as well.

No difference in the clutch between the 258 and 360, so you can just get a stock replacement for your year and transmission. I'm running a 360 also and I went with a LUK of replacement based on many recommendations on forums. Only a couple hundred miles on it so far, but no complaints. I found the best price on Rock Auto and it was under $100 shipped.

dang i guess im the odd man out. i bought the Centerforce II clutch, like the others said the flywheel is specific to the engine but the clutch is the same just make sure the spline count is correct for the input shaft of the trans

Centerforce is LUK parts for the CJ clutches. ;)
I run the LUK

I installed a LUK clutch kit and flywheel from Rockauto, this past weekend. Got it all for less than 200 bucks. The kit came with pressure plate, disc, throwout bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool. Pretty good deal I thought.

NFC 1101017. PART number from Napa. Just did this last week for same setup you have. It is a Luk.
