I'm looking at replacing my steel braided front flex lines and calipers. What brand calipers are you guys using? I have a Dana 44 front axle with the standard caliper right now. My front left has a lot of drag while the right will spin freely.

It’d be nice if they made dual piston high quality aftermarket calipers like Brembo or SSBC for Dana axles. If your wheel is dragging, you might have a seized or binding caliper.

Wilwood has a high performance kit Dana 30 part number 140-12613-DR for about one grand. I am itching for it now. Slotted or non slotted discs, lightweight, black or red anodized calipers... The choice is yours. Perfect combination for spoked wheels.

I have a Dana 30; I'm rebuilding it now, replacing lots of components to include the calipers. Crown makes a great (new construction) caliper. It wasn't too expensive. I painted it with VHC caliper paint and it looks great, the pistons move well. My biggest suggestion to you is try and stay away from remanufactured components.

I also got new rear and front brake lines from Morris 4x4: https://www.morris4x4center.com/cro...brake-lines-kit-2-3-orange-ci-jp10fr03or.html

Hope that helps.

They show that kit for an 82-86. What would stop that from fitting on my '79 Dana 30?

The only thing I can think of is the 5 or 6 bolt variations of the hubs. I converted to the older style 6 bolt which keeps the same brake rotor on my 82 CJ and they said I can use that kit. You can ask Wildwood directly from their website, they respond within two to thee days via email or call them. You might just have a different caliper setup on your 79.
