hey i got a question...im mainly working on my CJ5, but figured i could do some work on my other vehicles.

i've got a 07 ford f-150 xl...and when i step on the brakes it jumps like im going over a washboard?

now ive been told that its my brake pads, tires are cupping, wheel alignment

well ive had a wheel alignment after i had a front end accident (not much damage, just a quarter panel, bumper, brush guard saved the front end), pads have almost 100,000 miles on them, but i don't brake hard...and they still look good, tires i try to rotate when i change the oil myself, so any other ideas?

thx in advanced.

your rotors are warped. have them turned or replace them.

ahh, something that can not be seen with the naked, unrealiable eye.(nope still can't see it)

i've been fighting other people telling me stuff, so now i can say, NO, it's not.

something to add to my to do list...note to self #285-turn truck brake rotors:D

thx

If you have to replace them, the good ones cost more and do not tend to warp as bad. Try to go easier on the brakes, since warpage is caused from overheating.

You can also warp them by riding your bakes for a long ways.

i did some research on rotors and the general consensus was that the stock rotors aren't really the best...and that ebc brand is recommended?

so i'll probably upgrade to a better quality rotor with semi metallic pads.

(oh boy sounds like a jeep build here)

dulley noted...

gentleman sounds like i ride my brakes:(

well, if i do then :dung:, need to change, maybe its just cheap parts. yea, yea thats it:D

but really thanks for the insite, i'll be watching now.

thanks to all the input, i wanted to follow back up and say.....

the pads were out, and the rotors were just slightly warped, but got them changed and now it rides like a dream again.

thanks to all.
