Hey guys,
So I installed new tires on my CJ5, but i held off on replacing the spare tire to save a couple of hundred bucks, and because it had no treadwear. My concern is that the spare has been on the jeep since i bought it from the PO, which makes it over six years old. I also noticed small cracks (See Pic) running along the sidewall after the tire guy put some air in it. The spare is a different manufacturer, but the exact same size as the new tires. On the outside chance i get a flat, do you think its safe to use this spare, or should I cough up the cash to buy a new one?
Thanks!
Josh
