I am looking at a rebuild project done on a 73 CJ5. The transmission is a 3 speed. I am trying to find out some details on the transfer case. It has 3 levers. Any help determining what they are for would be greatly appreciated.
If it is a 73 it should have a Dana 20 transfer case but your shift levers look to be for a dana 18 with a pto an they were used from 1940 to 1971. Someone could have done a swap. You should crawl under and compare what you have with our transfer case info here -->> https://jeep-cj.com/community/threads/transfer-cases.43552/
I will look at it closer this week. I figure the lever on the left was to engage the 4wd. The middle one would be for the high/low range. I wasn’t sure what the lever on the far right was for.
