Moab, the tease. As I write this, the Moab 2023 trip is probably coming to a close. I was fortunate to be invited to join the event by Posi. I look forward to the posts that will come out of this week long excursion. We drove the 375 miles from Colorado Springs over hwy 50 taking about 9 hours. We stopped to stretch our legs often. I was happy to see that we can expect 18 miles per gallon over the road even after all of the changes. We knew that we would only have three days to be there because of job requirements to return. We spent day one on the Gold bar rim trail. I was a bit anxious as the trail is rated 6 with requirements of bigger tires and lockers I don't have. The group was very helpful, supportive, and a joy to be with. We did reach a point where I was not comfortable pushing my dd up the trail so we found a comfortable place to sit and eat our lunch while we waited for the groups return. Joined up again we proceeded back out the way we came. We would later join up for a pot luck dinner put together by 007, Thanks Michael.

A couple more from the first day. I can't wait to see the post from the rest of the group. Gert with a loose bell housing. Quick fix for him

Day two was to be Hells Revenge. for me, that was going to be more difficult than said. I have a profound fear of heights and when we arrived I decided that it was going to be a pass for me. We made our good mornings and decided to "do an easy one'" We chose Shafer switchbacks and potash rd. Everyone said that would be wonderful choice. For the first three quarters of the ride everything was wonderful. The switchbacks, although a wider road, are a very high ride. Wow! Fortunately we were going uphill so I was against the cliff and made no effort to look to my right. The only view I have of this ride was of the camera work provided by my wife. Note to self, switchbacks mean really high.

Day three was a scheduled tourist trip for us. you have to make reservations to get into Arches. Who Knew? We traveled the area, visited a tourist trap (Whole in the wall), and spent the rest of the day at Arches. We haven't been to Moab since 1999. We were excited to get the chance to go bac again and to be with friends we haven't seen since Ouray 2017. Thanks Posi, and thanks to all the great folks that showed up for this one. It was outstanding.

Man i forgot about the loose bellhousing bolts, the flywheel makes some crazy sounds chewing up the aluminum bellhousing when the jeep is all twisted up

I don’t know why, but this is the first time I saw this thread. Didn’t come up before.

Thanks for posting the vid Posi, and thanks again for the invite and amazing time.

Nothing like a good campfire out in the desert. Done it plenty times out in the Chihuahuan Desert.
