Help Me .... ?

Hello

Hi My name is Emily I have a 2002 Ford zx2. It has 100,000 that I just put into it. Real nice little car, not my first ford though. At 16 I had a Ford Mustang and at 20 I had a Ford aspire, at 21-22 I had a ford bronco II, then at 22 a ford F 150 and now I own a Ford zx2. I have been told that this car has three temperature sensors, and had to replace two. I was also told that my check engine light was on because of one of these sensors, and after replacing two the light remains on. Can anyone give me some advice?

Did you have the computer reset?

disconnect and then reconnect the battery. That should clear any previous codes.

disconnect the battery, if the light stats on, have it reset or troubleshot again

Take it to your trusted mechanic,& ask him to scan,& then clear the codes. Drive it for a few days. If the lite reappears, do it again.
If the same code/codes reappear somethings needs to be done.
You may have more than 3 sensors. Common sensor faults are 02 sensor.
I believe your Escort has one in front,& one rear of the catalytic converter.
Other sensors that can give you headaches are;
crankshaft position sensor,
cam " " "
Throttle " "
Airflow "
Coolant temp. "

We see as much sensor fault as we see fault of the part that they are supposed to be sensing. Not my fault, i didn't build them. LOL

Fact!, typical male behavior. Fall all over myself, poke myself in the eye, stub my toe, muddy my C.J. all up, for what?
So i can be a hero. Then find out i got beat to the line, or was in the wrong lane to begin with. Never happens.
