Body Hardtop seal replacement questions.

So I have an existing deal that was placed in the body of the jeep and can tell it has shrunk likely due to that.

I have cleaned the hardtop inside and out it preparation of the new seal install. Any tips?
I believe I read to install the seal over the old seal on the front. So the pics I’m adding here show it I cleaned and the preexisting seal on front and the seal on the jeep that needs removed.
