I'm doing the YJ spring conversion using OME 2" lift. When I got the rear end put together I noticed that when the springs are fully extended the U joint on the transfercase binds up on the cap bolts. What is the fix for this. Is it a new drive shaft or drop the transfer case down an inch or so or is there a better fix?

From what I have seen and read a 2" lift on a CJ5 does require a transfer case drop and shims on the rear diff springs to rotate the pinion angle up. There are other options like using a CV joint and rotating the pinion angle by rewelding the axle spring pads. There can be issues on the front drive line as well.

Double Cardan from Tom Woods. End of problem. You will need to rotate the pinion up to point at the t-case output.
