Sorry for the terrible pun, couldn’t help it.

I’ve been messing around with my heater box and dash lately. I’m interested in “upgrading” the knobs and bezels to metal versus the crappy plastic that is original to the Jeep.

On one of the other forums I saw a discussion regarding how to remove the knobs from the heater and air box control cables with heat, but the bezels could not be removed. -challenge accepted.

I have new cables so I started looking at the old ones. If you pull the knob all the way out the rim of the bezel is accessible and you can slide a thin screwdriver under and pop it out.

Looks like it is secured with these slots on the cable housing.

Now after the old knob is removed you could slide the new metal bezel on and then the new knob. Cheers!

They are difficult. Yes you can put on the new bezel but... Do you have access to a lathe? I made custom ones for my CJ so I would stand out. Knurled the nobs. Knobs include... :chug:

That's awesome! No I do not have access to a lathe. Are you interested in making another set? haha😁
