84 w/ 360 exhaust manifold question.

I recently bought an ‘84 with a 360 and 727. The PO removed the B&M shifter that was in it and installed a Lokar shifter. The problem is the shifter mount conflicts with the drivers side exhaust (Hedman headers) so the tailpipe can not be installed. Is there a way to resolve this? I’m thinking of going back to stock exhaust manifold. If I did do that, would rear dump exhaust manifolds work conflict free? Just really don’t want to buy manifolds that I won’t be able to use.
