Once I get my 79 roadworthy I'll be cleaning this up to tow behind it. 194? M-100. Gotta have it ready by the 1st camping trip of the season. No roof top tent for mine cause the pooch sleeps in with us. Mainly just a hauler this season then adding solar panels next year.

I plan on building one like this but with a pintle hook up and offroad tires:

The company sells all the parts including just the body and they make a M416 style. These are fiberglass bodies and are re-enforced for roof top type camping if you like.

If you'd like to see more look here:

I am curious...

those of you that are making them from scratch, where do you get your parts?

trailer section at northern?

how do you know what to get to ensure you have enough UMPH to carry all your stuff?

great looking trailers by the way... wish i had those kinds of skills

There are several trailer parts suppliers near me but I found that prices and selection were MUCH better online. Besides that, I was able to specify the bolt pattern I wanted so my trailer hubs matched my Jeep wheels.
As for “uumph” the military trailers were only rated for 500lbs payload. Everything on mine is much stronger. With a 3500lb axle & springs, I can haul anything I want... within reason.
