I am looking to buy a new or used hardtop for my '82 cj7, any advice on a good place to start? I live in Washington state. I have found a few places online but they are all located down south and would cost twice as much to ship it as the purchase price. If I'm going to spend that much I might as well go new. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Find one local I found 3 near me. I bought them all. Also with a few modifications you can make a yj top work.

Cool, I did not know about the YJ top. I will do a search and see what I can find out about that, Thanks. if you are using full (hard) doors do you need to use YJ doors as well or do the CJ doors match up and seal ok?

Only real difference is the rear hatch. Yj has a swing out tail gate that is designed to keep the rear glass held shut where CJ has factory swing out tire carrier so the rear hatch has its own latches. I'll look for some pics or take a few when I get home from work

If you can't find anything on Craigslist in your area if you go on Facebook Market Place your likely to find something close by. Only reason I got back on Facebook.

Spring and summer are the best times to buy hard tops as they are off and in people's way
