Need headlight adjustment help

My Low Beams were a bit high so I adjusted them down this morning. The little plastic forty year old "nuts" stripped right out and the parts store has no listing for anything Jeep in that related category.

So what do you guys use to replace those little plastic nut thingies? Mine look like they are riveted in with three rivets and more round than square like the replacement ones the parts store had.

Thanks

I bought this kit from Morris 4x4 it requires u to drill out the rivets and use the 2 supplied nut and screws to hold them in. Not factory but works well for less than 20 buckshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...556e899671.jpg

that's awesome! Thank you. I looked through Quadratech but had not gotten to Morris yet.

Now I just need to Jimmy-Rig something until that kit gets here..... ;-)

Yeah, my mind is running through a lot of things right now. I'm thinking of trying the generic plastic pieces the parts store has. If it doesn't work then I'm only out a couple of bucks. If I make anything work I'll throw up a pic tomorrow.

I figured something out.

I drilled out the rivet on one of them and was trying to fit in a replacement piece for a standard GM application since it's the only ones the part store carried. Didn't work but I realized something -- if you take a couple small zip-ties and run them through the original threaded hole, then screw from the newer replacement unit will work. The newer screws are smaller size so it all fits together perfectly.

Now I'm off to the hardware store to get a small screw and nut to bolt this original piece back on. I didn't have to drill out the rivet at all but I didn't think of the zip tie idea until after the drilling.

So now we know.

I'll post a pic of it when I'm done to and confirm whether it works or not.

Ok, so I didn't take a pic when I got it all back together before covering it with the ring, but it works like a charm!

When I got my CJ last year the headlight mounts were so rusty they weren't even worth trying to save so I bought the Rugged Ridge replacement mounts. They ran about $90 but were worth it
