Body Mount Bushings

Several of my body mount bushings are split and falling apart. What brand replacement is recommended and is there a reasonably simple way to replace them without pulling the tub off? I donít want what should be an easy job to turn into a project that has my Jeep in parts for the next year or more.

Re: Body Mount Bushings

I used Day Star polyurethane bushings. [one inch lift]
You don't have to take the body off, just loosen all of the old mounts [good luck with that] remove them one at a time, put a jack under one side of the body closest to the one you are removing and slip a new bushing in between body and frame.
Be aware that you will probably find most of the bolts rusted and frozen into the captured nuts. Some can be accessed fairly easy some are impossible. I had to cut a hole to get to one of mine.
Start applying liberal amounts of PB Blaster several days ahead of time.
I like the Daystar bushings, they shorted me several of the large washers but were very prompt in sending me new ones.

I went with the Mores

Like TN, I went with the extra inch. If you loose everything all the way around first you can jack the tub up enough to get 'em in

Had a couple of the captured nuts that wouldn't let go...even after a steady diet of PB over several days. Luckily they were where I could get to them after a little cutoff wheel work

Could have been a lot worse...those things are hateful
