Hi folks, new here. I have a 76 CJ7 with a 258, T-150 and Dana 20. About a year ago I rebuilt the T-150 with a novak kit, also swapped tcase gaskets while I had it out. I seem to be leaking oil at the joint between the T-150 and Dana 20. When I pull the T-150 fill plug it appears to still be full, and the breather of the Dana 20 doesn't appear to be the source of oil.

Leak seems to be on the middle or bottom half of the joint and I'm looking at the Dana 20 from the rear. Anyone had an experience like this or common places for the Dana 20 to leak from? Again doesn't seem to be swapping oil from the trans, as it appears to still be full.

Looking for any experience, places to look, or any tips on how to locate the leak.

Thanks in advance!

Smell the leaked oil and you might be able to tell which unit is leaking. TC oil is quite pungent. The TC/transmission coupling point is not an oil seal point, to my knowledge. You might have a failed oil seal on either unit. Good luck.
