I'm rebuilding the 304 in my 77' and need to replace the rocker arms as they are used up. Is there something a little more modern to replace the originals with?

I would check summit or jegs

I like those. Mine has 5/16 bolts holding the pivots in place. What did you use for studs?

unfortunately I have not gotten that far they are part of my roller cam swap that i am still collecting parts for, my thought has been to hit my local machine shop for help/parts when I get to installing them :chug:

If you switch to different rockers other than the stock style, you will have to have the heads machined and studs installed. The stock rockers use bolts to hold them down. When I rebuilt the heads on my 401 I looked into roller rockers, but the machining to use them, to me, was not worth the expense. I used a heavy duty stock rocker from Bulltear. AMC v-8's all use the same rockers. Another thing that has to be done to run other rockers is the addition of push rod guide plates. More expense.
