1985 cj 7 I upgraded the blower motor to the one for the blazer. Works great I had a 30 amp fuse in the fuse panel, today I noticed the fuse was melted (looked like a melting ice cream cone). However the fuse did not blow and the motor was still working. I replaced the fuse with a 20 amp and turned it on for a few minutes and it worked fine and did not blow. It calls for a 25. The fuses I was using were the cheap kind from a dollar store. Anyone ever have a problem like this? Does the blazer motor require a higher amp fuse?

Right off hand I would suggest the recommended fuse, 25 amp, but avoid the cheap stuff.

Go to NAPA, and get some 25 amp fuses.;)

My upgraded blower motor's driven by 14 gauge wire and a 30 amp fuse.

is your set up different?
