87-95 wrangler steering shaft on a CJ?

Anyone ever use the 87-95 wrangler steering shaft on a CJ? It has better linkage and the vibration damper and I can pick them up for cheap around here. I just do not know if they kept the same shaft spleen sizes.

It is a double D shaft. Use the top for the u-joint you are so fond of and the original bottom with a flaming river U-joint on the bottom.

I welded the damper because there was just too much play in it. may just be the column/shaft I got but be aware.
