2018 Colorado Springs to Silverton Excursion and Bill D's Workshop Extravaganza

Once again Bill D will be hosting a 2 days wrench turning extravaganza. Bass, Oldjeeplady, Rad, and me will arrive at Bill D's shop at some point on Wednesday (15th).

The 2 day project list (Thursday & Friday)

Bill D
Remove transmission and clutch
Rebuild T176 transmission
Routine maintenance and inspection

Posi
TFI ignition upgrade
Check for possible vacuum leak
Install tailgate gasket
Tack weld muffler exit pipe
Passenger compartment power outlet
Routine maintenance and inspection

Bass/Oldjeeplady
Routine maintenance and inspection

Who else will be joining the group's excursion to Silverton, or stopping for a visit?

This is the place we will add updates on our progress and travels so check-in if interested.

We're planning to head out for Silverton Saturday morning.

So far this crack team of CJ Jockeys and one professional electrical engineer (OJL) have gotten the job done. Can we keep our streak alive? Stay tuned!

It would appear that we'd be hitting Colorado Springs as early as Friday evening or as late as Saturday mid-morning. It all hinges on what time I can manage leaving Thursday and that's always the crapshoot for me.

We are on the west side of Omaha, NE. The plan is to get an earlier start wrenching tomorrow so we are going to take our layover in North Platte. So far the trip has been uneventful. No flat tires, no trailer brakes locking up, no intercooler hose blowing off, no bad storms.. yet. I will post when we stop for the night.
